April 2018 Board Action
2nd Reading Item passed:
3A Soccer Class Proposal – This established the conferences and qualifying procedures for the State Bracket for the 3A soccer schools beginning next year.
Rule 3.1.11 – This requires the larger of the two schools, by enrollment, to be the host school when entering into a combination school agreement with a smaller school. This will take place beginning next school year. Since the football schedules have been completed for the next two seasons, the Upton/Sundance football agreement will remain in place until the next reclassification cycle.
1st Reading Items passed:
Rule 8.3.2 – Speech Proposal – Amended the proposed speech schedule proposal to allow ten meets per year/per school instead of each participant being allowed ten meets. Further discussion will take place next fall at the first round of District Meetings.
2-Day State Volleyball Proposal – Since any proposal changing a culminating event will go into place with the next reclassification cycle, we will look to begin as late as possible next year to see if we can accomplish the same goal of eliminating a night’s stay.
2-Day State Track Proposal – For the same reason above, we will also look at starting next year’s State Track Meet later to attempt to save a night’s lodging.
